The use of external toolboxes

FieldTrip makes use of some external toolboxes for specialized low-level functionality, e.g. to read data from proprietary file formats, or because of the implementation of computationally complex algorithms.

The following toolboxes are included in the default FieldTrip release in the “external” directory.

• ctf
• dipoli
• eeglab
• eeprobe
• fastica
• yokogawa
• openmeeg

The following toolboxes are also used for specific computations, but are not included in the default FieldTrip release. You can download them seperately and place then in the “fieldtrip/external” directory (where they will be automatically found) or anywhere else on your path.

• meg-pd
• meg-calc
• tcp_udp_ip

FieldTrip also makes use of some optional Matlab toolboxes that are provided by Mathworks.
